Licensed by the HSE
TES Environmental Services Ltd is a licensed asbestos removal company, based in Birmingham, working throughout the Midlands including Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham, Derby and Stoke.
Our licence permits use to remove any type of asbestos in any type of environment. The health and safety executive (HSE) has granted TES Environmental Services Ltd a licence through a process of interviews and random surprise site inspections to ensure that we know the correct safe removal or encapsulation of asbestos. We are awarded a three year licence and the HSE still carries out unannounced visits to ensure we are complying with current legislation. These visits ensure that we are doing everything expected to ensure the reduction of asbestos fibres at the source, so you are safe in your home and workplace.
Different types of asbestos and the way they are incorporated within the material will require different methods of removal and different forms of enclosure and separation from other areas. Enclosures are built and smoke tests are carried out to ensure no leaks are present which will allow asbestos fibres to be released beyond the boundaries of work. Enclosures are put under negative pressure to create a vacuum effect so that if minor leaks do emerge during removal air will always be drawn in and there for no fibres will be released.
The method of removal will vary but one principle will remain constant. There will be no dry stripping. Asbestos boards will be soaked with fibre-suppressant solution or pipe lagging and sprayed coatings will be injected to saturate the substance and minimise fibre release. Once the asbestos is removed through baglocks or airlocks the areas will be thoroughly cleaned to a standard ready for inspection by an independent UKAS accredited analyst to carryout visual and air tests test to give a certificate of re-occupation. It is only at this stage will the enclosure be removed and people can then safely reoccupy the areas.
These methods are in place to ensure the safety of the client and our staff who will be exposed to asbestos. This is why our staff are annually trained in asbestos removal techniques.
